Summer in New Orleans is hot and humid, perfect weather for tropical foliage of every kind. After years of living in New York, with parks being my only accessible outdoor refuge, I love having a lush courtyard just outside my door - though I find it too hot to enjoy during summer days. So I thought I'd bring it indoors by making a collage of leaf prints. (I'm a little sentimental and I like knowing that all of these leaves were from our home in New Orleans. Wherever we might go in the future, I'll have a little piece of this place.)
I recreated this project from Martha Stewart Living, one of those crafts I kept in my "Someday" file. It was easier than I would have imagined and hard to stop once I started! I think it's a great summer project - a way to capture the season's offerings and bring a little quiet beauty to your home. But you'd better hurry. Fall will be here before you know it!
I was not able to find a direct link from Marth's site, so I'm including the directions here. Click on the image to enlarge and print.
Aimee - I can't figure out what issue it's from. It was just a one-page project, probably from Good Things, and it was probably 6 or 7 years old. If you want to see the full page, just email me and I'll send you the scan.

Yours turned out so great! What a fun project. We don't have nearly the variety of leaves here!
